Bear Sighting in Sugar Cane

Sugar Cane Residents – as you may be aware, there have been reports of a bear acting aggressively in the community.

The Conservation Officers are aware and taking appropriate steps, but for the time being please refrain from overfilling your garbage cans and use a bungee cord to secure the lids.

If you see the bear, do not approach it and get inside a building or vehicle. If the bear is acting aggressively, Conservation Officers have advised to call 911 directly as the response time will be faster.
