Borrowing for New Capital Projects

This public notice is to advise all members of the Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN) that Chief and Council intend to borrow funds from the Bank of Montreal (BMO) for the purpose of constructing new homes in the community of Sugar Cane. Pursuant to the WLFN Financial Administration Law (excerpt below), 15 days of notice must be provided, as well as an opportunity for members to attend the Council meeting in which the borrowed funds are approved.


The date of this Council meeting is March 22, 2021 from 9:30 AM until 10:00 AM. Feedback to Council can be submitted in the following ways:

  1. WLFN members may submit feedback by email to Council prior to the Council meeting on March 22, 2021. Written comments or feedback can be submitted to [email protected].
  2. Members may submit written feedback to Council prior to the Council meeting on March 22, 2021. Written comments or feedback can be mailed to 2672 Indian Drive, Williams Lake, BC V2G 5K9
  3. Members may attend the Council meeting on March 22, 2021. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Council meetings are currently held virtually through Zoom. If you wish to provide comments directly to Council, you may request Zoom coordinates and virtually attend the Council meeting on March 22, 2021 at 9:30 AM.
