Wildland Firefighter Training Available

First Nations’ Emergency Services Society of British Columbia has made training available for First Nations individual interested in becoming a Wildland Firefighter, or advancing their training in the field. The training will be held in community, with dates and times arranged with applicants.
The course checklist includes:
- S-100 – Basic Fire Suppression
- S-185 – Fire Entrapment Avoidance
- S-211 – The Fire Environment for Fire Fighters
- S-212 – Fireline Communications
- S-213 – Use of Bulldozers and Heave Equipment
- S-230 – Single Resource Leader/Introduction to Supervision
- S-232 – Portable Pumps & Water Delivery Systems
- S-235 – Ignition Operations (Burning Off and Backfiring)
- S-241 – Fire Assessment
- ICS 100 – Incident Command System 100
- ICS 200 – Incident Command System 200
- Power Saw Operator (Basic Chainsaw Operator)
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Danger Tree Assessment (DTA) (May be available separately, depending upon instructor availability.)
